A shot of whiskey with a resume on the side

A new career center opened in New York City yesterday. It's not inside a library; nor is it on a university campus: it's at a pub in Mid-town Manhattan - O'Casey's Tavern to be exact.

Unsurprisingly, in the US, this marks the first time a career center has been located inside of a bar. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Where do many young unemployed college graduates go to pass the time? Their local watering hole. So why not mix up some job tips and career advice along with those vodka tonics?

Last night's event brought out 100+ people seeking work, along with the chance to schmooze with representatives from 50 business organizations.

While the career center's services are free of charge, the drinks are not. So let's hope these youngsters find a job --- fast.
