A budding problem for 1-800-Flowers
Angry tweeters claim floral orders they placed for the big day never came or turned up dead.
Calls to the company's customer service line have reportedly resulted in long waits, abrupt responses and little resolution.
Reaching 1-800-Flowers' through their Twitter feed seems to be bringing some customers a bit more luck. The social media team have been responding to complaints and thanking customers for their patience.
Thus far, there hasn't been any apology from the company's spokespeople or its CEO, Jim McCann. Even if the situation has become a "thorn" in his side, McCann needs to address this customer service nightmare. And fast.
When Best Buy failed to fill several online Christmas orders this past December, CEO Brian Dunn quickly acknowledged the situation on his blog and also addressed Best Buy's employees during a January Town Hall meeting.
That's called being transparent. It's what you do. If you mess up, you say so.
In any event, it will be quite interesting to see how McCann and his team handle the situation, considering the fact that McCann's brother, Chris - the company's President - won so many kudos as an Undercover Boss in 2010.
